Congratulations to Maya and Joel for getting a placing in the poetry competition at Nayland College. Maya got a first place prize and Joel came second. They both received some great prizes. Here they are with their winnings!
These were their poems:
My Guinea Pig Blackie
Pointy claws scratching quietly
Soft ears twitching suddenly
Big butt wiggling furiously
Cute eyes blinking slowly
Bumpy teeth munching speedily
Small feet crawling quickly
Tiny whiskers swishing gracefully
My best friend Blackie
By Maya
Bina
Soft paws brushing
Tiny tongue licking
Wriggling tail whipping
Black back rubbing
Evil claws imprisoned
Glimmering teeth crunching
Twitchy ears twitching
Is Bina

Autumn Trees - Looking at Perspective
We've been busy working on an Art project over the last few weeks. Yesterday was the trickiest part because we had to imagine we were lying at the bottom of the tree looking up. To help us with this we all lay down outside in Jellystone Park while Mrs Harpur read a chapter from the Magic Far Away Tree. We looked up into the trees and could visualise the beautiful autumn leaves and the way the branches connected with the trunk.
We're not quite finished yet but we'll definitely share our trees when we've finished. Sometimes the best things we do take time but they're worth it.

Volleyball
A few weeks ago I watched some volleyball superstars beat a Brightwater team 3 games to nil. I was so impressed with their team spirit, enthusiasm and the way they encouraged each other.
Super proud of you, Mia, Maya, Xavier and Ava. Thanks must also be given to your coach who has given up his time to come and coach you on Tuesday lunch times. Keep it up!
