Here are some ideas for fitness activities in the senior playground.

Hi I'm Sophie-Rose and for the last couple of weeks we have been practising high jump skills in the hall. Tomorrow  we are very sad because its Mr Tunley's last day at Birchwood.

Hi Zanthy again. Today Rm 8 went to sign language with Cathy and a special guest Careen who is  totally deaf. She told us about her childhood and learning to talk at school!!! it was very difficult for her because she wasn't allowed to use sign language and the teachers were very strict.

Hi I'm Zanthy and welcome to term 4. Sign language continues with Cathy. This term's focus is on creativity. Our topic is Forever Now and we are looking at how we can save energy. Stay tuned!

DISCO DANCE PARTY

In room 8 we have created art works using the style of pop artist keith haring to do this we

.made cardboard action figures with split pins

.arranged our figures into exciting dance moves and traced around them on black paper

.created a bright  disco background using oil pastels

In room 8 we have been making strips of  Whakatu.  These are drawings of the Nelson landscape.  To complete our art works we needed to:

.Use line to show texture.
.Use colour to show texture.
.Use colour that are bright & vibrant.
.Use overlapping to create depth.
.Use the koru shape.

Yesterday Room 8 had the cross crounty at Greenmeadows. It was so hot. Hayden came first. Second place was Tyler, third was Marcos.
